Fertilizer transshipment in the port «Chornomorsk»

Ukrainian ports are actively used by farmers and producers of mineral fertilizers as transshipment points. Fertilizer transshipment in the port «Chornomorsk» is the main field of activity of «TTG Forward», whose specialists will ensure fast transshipment of the following types of bulk materials:

 
  • ammonium nitrate and carbamide;

  • superphosphates and ammophoses; 

  • potassium salts (potassium magnesium, potassium nitrate, potassium chloride); 

  • phosphates and apatites.


In the process of loading and unloading operations (LUO) and temporary storage of the overloaded goods, the specialists of «TTG Forward» act in accordance with the standards of the State Sanitary Regulations and Norms 8.8.1.2.001-98 «Transportation, storage and use of pesticides in the national economy», which guarantees the safety of the work performed and goods.

  1. Convenient delivery and transshipment:
  • a separate railway line, which allows to supply up to 14 hopper cars or gondola cars loaded with fertilizers in big bags to the warehouse;
  • closed storage facilities that meet the fire safety and corrosion protection requirements for working with ammonium nitrate;

  • the possibility of temporary placement of cargo in dumps, fenced with steel shields, inert phosphate, phosphorus fertilizers based on carbonate.

  1. Fertilizer handling in big bags.
  • the use of loading cranes with replaceable traverses allows to reload from 4 to 8 bags with fertilizer weighing 1-1.2 tons each at a time;

  • control of the hold’s load and the presence of pallets or beams between individual tiers in order to ensure full air circulation and prevent caking of material in the bags.

  1. Bulk transfer of fertilizers 
  • the complex has an elevator unit for storing nitrogen, phosphate and superphosphate fertilizers. From storage tanks, cargo is transported to ships by screw pumps and belt conveyors.
